In this article, I’m going to walk you through exactly how you can use these tools to attract sponsors and grow your newsletter. You don’t need a huge following to start; you just need to know the right strategies. These tactics are simple to implement and can make a big impact.

Let’s get started!

I. Using RSS Feeds to Automate Content Distribution

Using RSS feeds can save you time and effort by automating your content distribution across multiple platforms. It helps you reach a wider audience without manually posting updates. In this section, I’ll walk you through how to set up your own RSS feed and connect it with platforms like Pinterest and Google News.

1. Understanding RSS Feed and Setting Up Your Own One

First, let’s break down what an RSS feed is. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a tool that allows you to automatically distribute your latest content to subscribers or other platforms. It’s like a shortcut for getting your content out there without manually posting it everywhere.

=> With social media, all you see is the favorite stuff that people share. With an RSS feed, you see everything a website publishes.

How do RSS feed work?

RSS lets you share updates from your website with your audience in a simple way. It works by creating an XML file that includes details like the title, description, and link for each new post on your site.

Once this RSS feed is set up, it automatically updates whenever you publish new content. Visitors who subscribe to your feed can see your updates in their RSS reader without needing to visit your site.

As a newsletter owner or just a publisher, RSS helps you:

  • Syndicate content across platforms easily.

  • Keep your audience updated with posts, podcasts, or news.

  • Drive traffic by keeping subscribers engaged.

Here are some ways to use RSS for your growth:

  • Share content on social media automatically: Link your RSS feed to platforms like Pinterest, or Google News cause we tested and find them really outstanding. This keeps your accounts active by sharing updates from up to 25 feeds without extra effort.

  • Send emails automatically: With some little set up in tools like Mailchimp, you can connect your RSS feed to create and send emails that highlight your latest content inmmediatly.

  • Get content inspiration: Use your RSS feed to stay updated on industry news. This can spark ideas for social posts, blog articles, videos, or even podcasts.

  • Engage in online communities: Subscribe to RSS feeds in your niche. You can answer questions, share expertise, and link back to your website when appropriate.

=> To find an RSS feed on a website, look on the site’s main or home page. Not all RSS icons look alike. RSS icons come in different sizes and colors. Not all these icons contain the acronyms RSS or XML. Some sites use a Syndicate. This link or another type of link to indicate an RSS feed.

Now let’s see how to enable and create your own RSS link in Beehiiv. Basically, Beehiiv provides two RSS options for you to choose:

  • RSS Feed - Available for all plans: It lets you feature posts from your beehiiv publication on your website, allowing readers to access content directly on your site.

  • RSS Ingestion - Available for Max and Enterprise plans: It allows you to populate newsletters with content from your website by using external RSS feeds, ensuring subscribers stay updated with relevant content.

From AI Fire’s experience in years, we see that RSS Ingestion is quite difficult and more advanced, it also requires higher plans which cost a lot, so in this part, we’ll guide you to use RSS feed to distribute your content automatically - yeah it’s reasonable, organic and just PERFECT!!!

How to generate an RSS feed for your publication:

If you don’t want to read, here’s the video tutorial:

  • From the left panel Dashboard, scroll down and click Settings.

  • In the RSS Feed section, click New RSS Feed.

  • A unique RSS Feed URL will be generated. This URL ends with .xml, which is the standard format for RSS feeds. Copy and use it wherever needed. If you ever delete the feed and create a new one, a fresh URL will be generated.

If you’re using Max or Enterprise and want to use RSS Ingestion, use this guide instead.

Once you’ve added an external RSS feed to your account, it can easily be included in your posts, your social accounts, and more.

2. Integrating Your Feed with Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual search engine, and it's one of the best platforms to showcase your content, drive traffic, and build your audience. AI Fire also use it a lot to integrate our RSS feed, we think it is a smart way to automate the process of pinning your new content.

We don’t just say, we tested it, we see it works and we share. As shown below, AI Fire page gets 10,2K organic views each month even we don’t put much effort into it, just a RSS URL and a Pinterest account👇

Step 1: Set Up a Pinterest Business Account

If you don't already have a Pinterest business account, now’s the time to set one up. It’s free, and it offers tools and features that can help you grow your audience. There are two ways to get a business account on Pinterest:

  • Create a new business account: Go to Pinterest Business and create an account.

  • Convert a personal into a business account: But I know most of you guys are already using Pinterest, so you can convert it into business account for more control. Just click on your avatar > “Convert to Business”

  • Fill out your profile details (name, description, website link) to help optimize your account for discovery. I recommend using your professional email and your own name rather than the name of your business.

  • Claim your website option: You’ll see 3 options on onboarding journey, click on “Claim your website”. To claim a website, you must own the domain, subdomain or subpath, and you need to be able to edit the source code. There are three ways you can claim a website. If you face any problem, use this guide from Pinterest to get it done.

Step 2: Connect your RSS feed

Now you need to connect your RSS feed to Pinterest.

    integrating-your-feed-with-pinterest-6
  • Select Bulk create Pins from the menu at the left. Under Auto-publish, paste your RSS feed URL into the field, this is the link you copy in Beehiiv RSS Feed. This option will only appear if you have a claimed website.

    integrating-your-feed-with-pinterest-7
  • Click the directional down icon to choose a board. If you’re new to this, let’s create boards that align with the content you’re posting using this guide, it’s simple and straightforward so don’t be worried. For example, if you're posting blog updates, create a “Blog Updates” board. Then click Save.

    integrating-your-feed-with-pinterest-8

Here’s what you should know before creating your first feed:

  • Content Updates: When you update your RSS feed, new content will automatically appear as Pins on your boards within 24 hours. The oldest content on your RSS feed will be published first, with a limit of up to 200 Pins per day.

  • Board Selection: Each feed can be linked to a specific board. If you choose a secret board, the Pins will stay private and won’t be visible to others on Pinterest.

  • Multiple Feeds: You can add as many RSS feeds as you want, provided they are connected to your claimed website.

Step 3: Monitor and Adjust

Once everything is set up, Pinterest will start automatically pulling content from your RSS feed and posting it to your boards. But don’t just leave it alone, monitor the results to see how it’s performing:

  • Check Pinterest Analytics to track the success of your pins. From your dashboard, click on “View Audience Insights”

    integrating-your-feed-with-pinterest-9
  • Here you can see all the statistics about your audience, your growth, and see which posts get the most engagement (repins, clicks, etc.). Then, you can adjust your content strategy based on what works best.

And you can achieve that result too, it takes about 1-2 months for us to go viral but I think you’ll go faster with this guide.

    • Check your Google News Publisher Center regularly to see if your content is showing up. You should start seeing articles appear within a day or two.

    • Make sure all posts are being pulled in correctly. If some posts are missing, it could be due to the formatting of your RSS feed or issues with how it’s structured.
