🤖 AI in the Cloud: The Big Shifts Happening Now

AI is now a core part of cloud computing, but self-hosted models, security risks, and OpenAI’s dominance are shaping the landscape.
Self-hosted AI is taking over
A year ago, 42% of companies self-hosted AI. Now it’s 75%, as businesses move away from managed services for more control and cost savings.
One big winner? DeepSeek.
Its new DeepSeek-R1 model saw 130,000 downloads, doubling adoption in January alone. But its data leak also exposed the security risks of fast-growing AI platforms.
OpenAI still rules, but open-source AI is gaining
Despite competition, 67% of cloud environments use OpenAI or Azure OpenAI SDKs—up from 53% last year. Other major AI tools:
PyTorch (50%)
ONNX Runtime (46%)
Hugging Face (45%)
Meanwhile, open-source models like Mistral, Llama, and Qwen2 are growing fast, showing companies want alternatives to closed systems.
Security is falling behind
AI adoption is outpacing security. Major vulnerabilities were found, including:
DeepSeek database leak → Exposed logs and control access.
NVIDIA AI flaw → Risked 35% of cloud environments.
SAP AI exploit → Allowed hackers to hijack AI services.
Experts warn AI risks will keep rising unless security catches up.
What’s next?
Self-hosted AI will keep growing as companies move away from managed services.
Open-source models will challenge big players like OpenAI.
Security will be the next big AI battleground.
🚀 Bottom line: AI’s cloud takeover is unstoppable—but if security doesn’t improve, it’s only a matter of time before a major AI breach shakes everything up.

AI CHART

AI is already changing the economy, but where is it actually being used? A new study analyzing 4 million Claude conversations gives us a clearer picture—showing which jobs are using AI the most and how it’s reshaping work.
Here’s what they found:
AI’s Biggest Impact: Software and Writing Jobs Dominate
The data shows nearly 50% of AI use happens in software development and writing-related tasks. That includes coders, data scientists, content creators, and technical writers.
Other fields? AI is slowly creeping into business and analytical jobs, but jobs requiring physical labor (construction, healthcare, transportation)? Almost no AI presence there.
AI is Mostly Helping, Not Replacing (Yet)
One key insight: 57% of AI use is for augmentation (helping humans work better), while 43% is automation (fully taking over tasks).
This means AI is still more of a collaborator than a replacement—helping with writing, coding, research, and problem-solving, rather than fully automating jobs. For now.
Who’s Using AI? Mid-to-High Wage Jobs Are the Sweet Spot
Most AI use is in mid-to-high wage jobs (think software engineers, analysts, writers).
Low-wage and very high-wage jobs? Less AI use.
Low-wage jobs (waiters, retail workers) → Too much physical work.
High-wage jobs (doctors, lawyers) → Too much regulation and complexity.
AI thrives in jobs where people work with information, not their hands.
What’s Next? AI’s Role Will Keep Expanding
The study suggests AI will keep transforming knowledge work—but it’s not clear how fast full automation will happen.
Expect more AI-powered assistants in coding, content creation, and business roles.
AI will continue lowering costs and boosting efficiency in high-skill jobs.
The gap between AI-augmented work and fully automated work will widen.
🚀 Bottom line: AI is here, but it's not taking over every job just yet. If you work in coding, writing, or business strategy, expect AI to become your new best coworker—whether you like it or not.
