Why it happens:
Adding too many documents makes the AI confused and unable to follow instructions well.
When you add documents, the AI tries to include parts of them in its understanding of what you're asking.
If you add 10 documents, each with 4000 characters, it's too much information.
This overload makes the AI forget your last message, like a goldfish.
With so much extra information, your instructions might get ignored.
How to fix it:
Use pink knowledge documents. The AI can see these in its memory and access them when needed.
Use blue for coding. This is much better, especially for bigger tasks.
Write your documents as .md files. The AI doesn't mix these up with its other thoughts, only using them when you write code. This improves performance.
But, searching within these documents isn't as easy. They're better for when you need the full document, not just a summary.
Don't use 20 large files. I tried 10 files with about 4000 characters each, and the AI kept forgetting things. Changing from .txt to .md files solved this.
Only include documents that have instructions for the AI. Just adding a document without guidance won't work."
